The Moat House in Acton Trussel is right up there in the Staffordshire Wedding Venues hall of fame. Moat House Weddings are always a pleasure to photograph as it boast light and spacious ceremony rooms and the accommodation is first class, the Wedding & Events team are also excellent. As a Photographer I see many wedding co-ordinators, but few run in the same way as this rural gem. Friendly, efficient and professional. The Moat house is set in the beautiful countryside right next to the Staffordshire Canal and boasts its very own Moat with a purpose built jetty and a stunning wedding tree ! So from a wedding photos perspective this venue offers endless opportunities around the grounds. I believe there are plans in the pipeline to create an are where couples can get married outside, its just a rumour though.
A short walk away is St James Church and many couples choose to marry here instead of a holding a civil ceremony. The venue has well established gardens and surrounding areas, offering great backdrops for wedding images from many different angles…. Seasonal areas see lots of flowers come to life all year round, and whatever the time of year its a pleasure to visit, although autumn weddings I think are my favourite at the Moat House, the whole area is just a sea of golden colour and the swans are a little less protective of “their” lake. The sun goes down over the western side of the Acton Suite presenting some beautiful light and dramatic sunsets that can make a stunning visual backdrop for some creative images. At the bottom of this page I’ve attached just a few of my favourite shots from Moat House weddings, some of which have won international photography awards ( now doesn’t that sound impressive ).
Moat House Wedding Pictures
Hopefully you will see some creative use of the grounds and surrounding area at the moat house. The canal, the moat, the fields, the church, the tree, the farm house, the dancefloor ! I totally relish the challenge of finding quirky or different areas, or use the feature areas in a completely different way to other photographers. I would really love to hear from you, and would be honoured to be part of your big day.
